What Happened To Final Fantasy?

Final Fantasy seems to lose fans every generation and with each new anthological entry. The Daily Dorks discuss the strange case in their newest episode of Pass The Salt.

Ff15 sold 6 million copies worldwide that’s a solid number for anything

      If nothing else.

The usual thing happened: a good thing managed to become popular and then that popularity destroyed it because in the end everybody basically forgot what was good about it.
I was considering myself a FF fan, but right now, after the dramatic shift in gameplay for XV I just realized that if this series can’t be devoted to itself and had to become a action rpg (because naturally it had to, kids cannot sit still anymore) then why should I be devoted to it ?

The only games that deserve a credit from me are those who credit themselves. That is why, basically, the only games I am loving these days are FromSoft titles and ATLUS games. Everything else ? Cashcows. Doing everything and anything to jump onto the bandwagon instead of living their lives till the end of their vision, improving, but never changing.

Nothing happened… except maybe that people started thinking they were entitled to things they weren’t entitled to, and expecting things they shouldn’t have expected.

Entitled? What? When you pay for something I think you are entitled isn’t it the point of paying for something? To be entitled (notice that word title is in there)

When I go to the bakery, and I expected a pecan pie. I shouldn’t get a lemon pie because the chef thinks I should not be ‘entitled’ to something. Eventually (which is what has happened) the masses will stop buying from that chefs pies. And when he crys about how 36-50 percent of pecan pie lovers used buy his pie, and now not even 1 percent buys his pie anymore.

This isn’t like going to a bakery, though. This is like going to a comedy show and being mad that the comedian doesn’t tell your favorite jokes.

I hate to make two comments but will you saying the same thing when the flood of ROOT JRPGs start hitting from Square Enix? In 2014 they FIRED the president that tried to switch their audience BACK to thier succesful rooks of JRPGss (yes Squares first two jrpgs where ACTION jrpg’s named Dragon quest 1 and 2 they where not selling good IRONIC!) and they was filing bankruptcy until they released FF1 which all on it’s own made them profitable.
