extreme rules 2016

Your predictions specialist has returned, and I am here to let you know how Sunday night’s WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view will play out.

No Disqualification Match
Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin

Not only do I think Ziggler can win this match but I also don’t see why he couldn’t get a win in a regular match against Corbin. He’s a former World Heavyweight Champion, he shouldn’t be in the spot he’s in. However, I can also see him losing a match like this and making himself and Corbin look good in the process.

My pick for this match is Baron Corbin.

Tornado Tag Team Match
The Usos vs. The Club

The only thing I care about in both of these teams is Gallows. I don’t care for The Usos, for the most part. They’re alright, but I can take them or leave them. In regards to The Club, I honestly don’t care about Anderson. Nothing against him, but I’ve never seen any of his work. Well, outside of the WWE that is. Now, Gallows, I’ve been a fan of his since he was Festus!

My pick for this match is The Club.

Asylum Match
Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho

Until recently, I would have had Ambrose pegged to win this match. I think I speak for everyone when I say we thought Styles would win at WrestleMania 32 against Jericho. However, given Y2J’s victory, I for sure wouldn’t mind seeing him pick up another one against Ambrose. Not to mention the Asylum match is dumb.

My pick for this match is Chris Jericho.

Intercontinental Championship Match
Fatal 4-Way Match
The Miz vs. Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro vs. Sami Zayn

The Owens/Zayn feud can continue without either one of them winning this match. I like Cesaro and could care less for The Miz. Also, I feel like over the last couple of weeks, Cesaro has been getting the short end of the stick. They could be setting up for him to win.

My pick for this match is Cesaro.

United States Championship
Kalisto vs. Rusev

Being a bigger fan of Rusev, I want him to win off the bat. I don’t think he can do anything with the title that can surpass what he did while having it, undefeated, for a year. Also, with what he did to Kalisto on Raw, practically breaking him in half, I think Kalisto winning would make him look that much better.

My pick for this match is Kalisto.

WWE Women’s Championship
Submission Match
Charlotte vs. Natalya

Stipulation: Ric Flair is banned from ringside. If he disregards his ban, Charlotte will be stripped of the title.

With or without the stipulation(s) in this match, my choice would be the same. I like Natalya but with how they’ve built her for the last couple of years, almost her entire WWE career honestly, I can’t see her winning. They would have to overhaul her character for me to see her win the title again.

My pick for this match is Charlotte.

WWE Tag Team Championship
The New Day vs. The Vaudevillains

I feel like the Vaudevillains need to win the titles to be taken as a serious threat. Yeah they’ve had their run-ins, their beatdowns on the New Day but I think everyone can easily see them losing the match against them nonetheless. That being said, I don’t know if I can see them wining. On the plus side I think the match is gonna be good.

My pick for this match is The New Day.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Extreme Rules Match
Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles

I’ve thought Styles would be “best for business” since coming into the title picture. I mean in the sense that he would be able to solidify the title, even if it doesn’t necessarily need it. It is the WWE championship after all. I would be extremely let down if he ends up never winning the title.

That being said, I think there’s a few other things they can do right now with both Styles and The Club that can be done without the title in their picture. Not to say that those same stories couldn’t be more impactful with the title involved but it can be done, and I think well enough without it.

My pick for this match is Roman Reigns.
