Welcome back to “The Best Moment of RAW,” where I, Mr. X, boil the most recent episode of WWE’s flagship television show down to the very best that it had to offer. Lately, the choices have been easy, but not this week! This week, I had to sift through a mountain of dookie.
Before the show, I assumed The Undertaker’s appearance would take this spot. Then it happened. Dude was in and out. Vince McMahon summoned him to the ring, he got there, grabbed Vinny Mac by the throat, and told him that his son’s blood would be on him.
THEN HE LEFT!
That’s why, for this week’s best moment, I have chosen the match between Y2AJ (Chris Jericho and AJ Styles) and The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods). It was a solid tag team match, which was taken to another level when Jericho got the victory for his team. As AJ made sure to point out, that means the two of them are now owed a shot at New Day’s WWE Tag Team Championships.
Is this the direction they’re going for AJ and ‘Mania? Y2AJ vs. New Day? I’ll take it.
For the runner-up, I have chosen the Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch match. The winner was set to become the Number One Contender for the WWE Diva’s Championship, going on to face Charlotte at WrestleMania 32. Exciting, right?
Well, it gets even better.
The match ended with the referee counting all four shoulders to the mat. There is a rematch scheduled for SmackDown, but I expect there’ll be another Dusty Finish. With the way things are going, it looks like Becky, Sasha, and Charlotte are going to have a Triple Threat match at the Showcase of the Immortals. The guys all better be careful. That match could easily steal the show.
I was all set to leave this at two, and then I saw a Youtube thumbnail for the speech that Stephanie McMahon delivered last night. Say what you want about the woman, but she can cut a promo with the best of them.
