To celebrate, I’m going to post some of my favorite songs of his. I’ve loved Johnny Cash since I was about 14 years old. For some reason, his music really got through to me. There was just something about it.
There are also all sorts of crazy stories about Johnny. He started a forest fire, killed 49 endangered condors, and was sued for it by the government. When he was asked why he did it, Cash responded with, “I didn’t do it, my truck did, and it’s dead so you can’t question it.”
What else? He used to intercept Russian intelligence, and was actually the first American to know that Joseph Stalin died.
Read all about it and more in this article, entitled, “7 Interesting Facts About Johnny Cash.”
Anyway, let’s get to it, shall we? Time to post some music. I’m going to select five songs. If you think I should’ve included a different one, or should not have included one of the ones I did, feel free to hit the comment section and let me know.
Happy birthday to Johnny Cash. He’d be 84 today. Rest in peace, you badass.
