For those who have been living under a rock, “Suicide Squad” is being made into a film, and it’s going to feature the legendary Batman villain known as The Joker. Familiar actor, and Academy Award winner, Jared Leto, has taken over the role from the deceased Heath Ledger. From the looks of it, his performance is going to be amazing – but I’m not entirely sold on the design.

Simply put: most of the tattoos don’t do anything for me. I don’t mind the “HAHAHAHAHAHAHA,” but I wish it looked messier. More jailhouse, and less like Mr. J sat in a chair for 8 hours without murking some dudes.
Anyway, recently, more photos began to surface, thanks to a spread in Empire Magazine.

When that initial photo was released, a huge portion of Batman fans shit themselves. I didn’t. I held out hope. The Joker is one of my favorite characters, and Heath Ledger set such a high bar. The filmmakers have to know that by including Joker, they’ve set themselves up to be measured alongside a performance that is widely considered to be a masterpiece of acting.
Basically, I was banking heavily on performance over look. I figured that’s the most important part. With that in mind, I have to say, the Empire cover made it a little harder to stay hopeful.
Then I saw this image:

NOTE: I am fighting an overwhelming urge to correct the typo in Ayer’s Tweet.
Anyway, I’m as hyped as I am on that image, because it brought me right back to “Batman: The Animated Series,” and the episode entitled, “Mad Love.” That’s where we were learned who Harley Quinn is, and why she loves her Mr. J as dearly as she does.
P.S. These two images were also released, and tweeted by David Ayer, the director of “Suicide Squad.”

The Enchantress image has me curious. Can’t wait to see more of her when “Suicide Squad” hits theaters on August 5th, 2016. FEATURED IMAGE CREDIT: YouTube.com
