Will He Cruz Through It?

In 2016, Dominick Cruz will once again make an attempt to take back what he deems as rightfully his: a place atop the bantamweight throne. Plagued by several knee injuries and surgeries, Cruz had to step aside for the ascension of a new king – T.J. Dillashaw. Cruz (20-1) (3-0 UFC), unlike great fighters who disappear after losing their titles, has stayed relevant by becoming a fight analyst and commentator.

Cruz’s last fight was back in 2014 – a lopsided KO victory against Takeya Mizugaki. Yet, since then, Cruz has remained at the forefront of the mixed martial arts scene. Dillashaw is already talking up a storm, naming Cruz as the one he wants to beat in order to position his reputation among the greats. But, Dillashaw is getting ahead of himself by already talking about a super-fight with “Mighty Mouse” Demetrious Johnson.

Dillashaw is in for a rude awakening if he thinks he will stop Cruz in his tracks. Now, I am not trying to take anything away from Dillashaw – he took down one of the toughest fighters in the division when he beat Renen Baroa.

Those were some show stopping fights…but that’s all you got.  Beat Cruz, have a couple more successful title defenses (because you only have 3 under your belt), and then talk about a “super fight.” Cruz has been reminding fans that the division hasn’t changed since he cleaned it out, and I predict that Cruz will come back stronger, better, and faster.  He will roughhouse Dillashaw and take back the championship.

So, who do you have?
